Smart agriculture based on the cloud and the IoT

In the agricultural sector the resolution of many critical issues passes through a necessary modernization, this can be achieved by optimizing different elements, experimenting and making use of technological innovation. In this context, the solution of many problems can be realized thanks to the service of cloud computing and all the key technologies that make up an IoT system. Just think of how sensors connected to a cloud platform can provide a huge volume of information data very useful in the efficiency of agricultural production, for intelligent management of agriculture that brings benefits to the sector, the countryside and the procedures implemented by the farmer.

The IoT and some ICT technologies such as RFID can substantially help farms implement an intelligent and automated management, control and monitoring system. Cloud computing is closely related to the internet of things, a perfect combination of these two elements can foster a more rapid development of agricultural modernization by implementing what is called on all fronts smart agriculture.

And here it is possible to carry out a real time monitoring on the environmental parameters that allows an immediate intervention in case of a magnet but also to prevent the bacteriological criticalities thanks to a careful analysis and exploiting a system capable of processing a data history. In this way we could implement an efficiency improvement on several fronts that allows us to increase product quality, optimize costs and increase production yield.

So the farmer becomes an interpreter of smart farming, or a new approach to intelligent farming, where the land and the countryside are synthesized through digital and interact in a communication “morphosyntax” that can be accessed remotely using mobile devices: why not think about data in the cloud platform transmitted to an app that can be easily accessed from our smartphone?

Agriculture is transforming, technological innovation will make it more efficient than ever, it is up to us to grasp its demands and apply them to maximize their benefits.
